The goal of the textbook English Grammar and Vocabulary for Academic Writing is to help researchers sharpen their writing skills in English for academic purposes. The focus is on optimizing sentence structure and sequence and on grammar and vocabulary that will make the writing clear, concise and appropriate for the target audience. The coursebook is a guidance on English to gain confidence and competence in writing scientific texts and learn some strategies for expressing the intended meaning in English and for reflecting on their own writing style.

Apart of these topics, there are appendixes included presenting important and useful vocabulary lists (Academic Collocation List, Academic Formulas List, Adjectives for Personal Qualities, Phrases for Personal Qualities, Action Verbs). Moreover, there is a full answer key for all of the practice exercises included at the back of the book. This helps learners stay motivated and encourages self-reflection as it enables them to self-check.
